O-1 visas are nonimmigrant visas for aliens of extraordinary ability in the sciences, art, education, business, or athletics who have extraordinary ability demonstrated by sustained national or international acclaim and are coming temporarily to the U.S. to continue work in the area of extraordinary ability. For aliens in the television and motion picture industry, one must have a demonstrated record of extraordinary achievement and must be coming temporarily to the U.S. to work in the area of extraordinary achievement.
