USCIS To Restore Prior Approval/Receipt
Mailing Procedure
October 20, 2011
USCIS announced today that based on stakeholder feedback regarding the recent change in mailing procedures for receipts and approval notices, the Service will revert back to the prior procedure of mailing original documents to the attorney of record or accredited representative’s address listed on the G-28 form. This comes as welcome news to all since the change that went into effect last month has led to an unintended negative impact for stakeholders.
The change will take effect in approximately six weeks due to the need to re-program the USCIS systems, so we appreciate you continuing to forward scanned copies of the original receipts and approvals you receive directly from the Service.
Thanks for your patience, and as always, please feel free to contact us with any questions.
